Still

A little while ago I posted some cinefilm from the late 1940s but here's a still that we've extracted.

That's Annanetta, our lovely home, from over 70 years ago! From a different time and indeed a different world! A world still fresh from the privations of the Second World War and in the middle of the austerity and rationing of the post war years.


Yet she's the same as she is now. Those lines are identical, the flare of the bow, the rake of the wheelhouse, the curve of the hand rails. The aft derrick is in the arch under Kingston Bridge.


She's the same and yet everything is different!
