This fantastic picture, recently supplied by John Chaston, wonderfully captures Annanetta at her best! It was taken in 1955 and that's John's father Claude Henry Chaston standing proudly at the port hand rail. John tells me that this was taken towards the mouth of the Colne River that runs down past Brightlingsea into the broader Thames estuary and North Sea. Claude Chaston owned a joiners yard and I suspect that this trip is one taken freshly after a thorough spruce up. Claude had only purchased her earlier that year so this would have been a wonderful first or early outing! A truly wonderful photo!
